Standing Here
A short film about the struggle that unites us all

Concept:
In an electric city that doesn’t always accommodate uncertainty, a young man searches for his career in the midst of a budding, intersectional, unlikely friendship and a stray looking for someplace to call home. Love and connection is as transient as the subway trains crisscrossing and rolling in and out of stations.

Closer Look:
Inspired by real life events and set in New York City, a young man searches for a job, finds a stray and comes across an improbable friendship. Elements of the importance of the arts, community, connection and self-empowerment make its way into the short film. Two friends found each other in trying and lonely circumstances that come from very different walks of life. This film seeks to show these unlikely connections are the beauty of relationships and indicative of city living and artistic affinity. How in chaos and cluster, one can find solace and comfort. How a stray animal brings out our true compassionate and empathetic souls and those souls can marry over these events.

Comment by Executive Producer:
One of our goals in this film is to further raise the awareness of adopting stray dogs. While I was able to help rescue Bella, I do realize that there are many, MANY more stray dogs in need of our love and care. I hope that our film will inspire you to do your part in making a difference for man's best friend.

The team's very first Music Video project!
Executive Producer's comment:
Yes, this video looks very amateur..... We really didn't know what we were doing when we first shot this film because my team and I did not go to film school lol. However, you can tell that we had a blast making this video! This will always be my favorite project because it started everything! Thanks to this project, I learned which people worked well together, and I got to learn how to use Final Cut Pro, Protools, and a lot of equipment necessary to make a music video.
